Happy Fall!

Just a quick update with some pictures of the girls. They will be 9 months old next week! I can't believe how fast time is flyinig with them and all the things that they are learning to do everyday! They are both crawling around everywhere and pulling up on everything which makes things kinda scary around here. With two to fall and bump heads it makes for a long day of picking up and loving on crying babies! :) Emmilyn and Lilly are also talking like crazy, they crack me up crawling around saying "baba, dada, mama" and of course their favorite word is Dada!! They just started playing well with each other , which is adorable and they are still making that sound that they only do with each other :) We put them down in the kitchen last week and Emmilyn started chasing Lilly, they were both laughing like crazy and Lilly even turned around as if she was telling Emmilyn to come on.

Some other changes in our house is that we are MOVING HOME. We have our house under contract and plan on being in Alabama for good in January. I am very excited to get back home to all my friends and family. Its also bittersweet b/c we'll be leaving Davids parents, but this has always been our plan to move back home, the girls just sped it up a bit. Our plan is to buy my grandparents house and fix it up. I have always loved their house but never imagined it would be mine one day, I guess I thought they would be around forever.
Our three year anniversary is next week and I NEVER thought that in three short years my life would have changed so much. Everyday I think back to how we felt when we found out we were having twins and how scared we were and now I can't imagine having it any other way. I contintue to thank God each and everyday for bringing David into my life and now for these two beautiful babies he has blessed us with.

Finally an update!!

We have been so busy I have not had time to sit and update and put new pics up of the girls. Emmilyn and Lilly will be 7 months old on the 18th, I can't believe how fast they are growing up. They are both trying their best to crawl. I give Lilly 2 more days until she figures out just how to do it the right way. They are both scooting and rolling around and getting into EVERYTHING! My days of putting them on the ground and leaving are over. :)

It seems like over the last 2 weeks they have both learned to do all kinds of things. They are both sitting up now and also have really started to notice and play with each other. The other exciting thing is they are both sleeping through the night!! After 2-3 nights of sleep training they are sleeping from 7:30- 6:30. A couple of nights they have woke up around 4ish but we have just let them cry it out, hard for us but something we have to do. Personalities are also really starting to come out!! Emmilyn is our more layed back and relaxed baby. She is content just sitting in the floor with her toys and playing in the same place for awhile. Lilly on the other hand is our "wild child" she is EVERYWHERE. As soon as she is put on the floor she immediately begins scooting and trying to crawl to find anything she can get into. My parents laugh and say she is going to be just like me! :) As i'm typing this they are playing in their exersaucers and "talking" to each other. It sounds like alien talk, everyone says Twins have their own language and I guess they are already starting theirs!!!

4 months old!

I can't believe my baby girls will be 4 months old on Thursday. Everyone says how fast it goes by but I don't think anyone can ever fully understand that until they are seeing it first hand. Emmilyn and Lilly are doing great and are growing like crazy. They are now 12 and 11 pounds. A huge difference from 4 and 5 they were born at. They are both starting to really show their own personalities. Emmilyn is our more layed back go with the flow baby and Lilly a bit more high strung and hyper. Lilly moves nonstop and we feel she is fussy b/c she can't get up and go!

Seeing the girls smile and laugh will just melt your heart. They have not really started noticing each other yet but I can't wait to see how they interact with each other. I has been almost a year since I found out I was pregnant and how scared I was to be having one baby and now I can't imagine it any other way. My aunt tells me it would just be boring to have one :) We are still trying to get back to BAMA and my goal is set for Christmas. We have been working on the house and trying to get it on the market so everyone keep your fingers crossed for a quick sell....

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Happy Easter to everybody! The girls actually went to church for the first time today and almost made it through the entire thing without having to be taken out to eat. I was kinda impressed with me and David too, we made it church early! I have to say getting two babies ready that early in the morning is kinda stressful! Between trying to change, feed, dress, and pump it got kinda crazy but we did it!

7 week update!

I can't believe my babies are already 7 weeks old. Its crazy to think that technically they are supposed to be 1 week old. Both Emmilyn and Lilly are growing like crazy as of last Thursday Emmilyn weighs 7lbs 9oz and Lilly is 6lbs 15oz. The doctor is very pleased with them. They are also starting to get their own personalities. Lilly has become our little drama queen crying rather screaming at the top of lungs when she wants to be held. They say you can't spoil babies until 3months but I know that after we have people visiting and holding them that the next couple of days are hard on me. We also found out last week that the girls are identical twins. My OB had thought they were fraternal b/c they were in their own sacs and had their own placentas. But after the blood work and DNA tests came back from the placentas we found out that they are IDENTICAL. I think she called them DIDI twins which is less common b/c of the 2 sacs and placentas were in one big sac.

Life has been kinda crazy in our household but I LOVE it. Its crazy how much I love these girls more each day. We love this baby stage but are looking forward to them getting older and really starting to interact with us and each other. The day we found out we were pregnant we were shocked and even more so when we found out that we were having two now I can't imagine my life any different. I have to brag on David without him I honestly don't think that I would be functioning :) After my wonderful mother left after 5 weeks he stepped right in. He gives me time to myself when he gets home from work and even gets up with me in the middle of the night to help feed and change the girls only getting about 4 hours of sleep before goes and works 10 hours. I am SOO blessed and lucky to have him.

They are here!!

Well the girls are here! My water broke Tuesday February 17th when we were leaving our last childbirth class. I called the doctor and they said to get to the hospital, thank goodness we were just across the road! When we got there they said I was in labor and had already started dilating. They immediatly gave the medicine to stop labor, it was weird they were saying I was having contractions but luckly was not feeling them yet. The doctor on call that night said he hoped that they could keep me pregnant a few more days or even another week since I was on 33 weeks along. David and I were awake the entire night freaking out and worrying about the babies. Wednesday morning the pain started!! I thought it was associated with the "pulled muscle" in my back but Dr. Shrout said the pain I had been feeling the past couple of days was labor. When she got there late Wednesday night she decided that she needed to take the babies b/c of low fluid and I was even more dilated. So an hour after she came the babies were born. The past week and a half have been a roller coaster. The girls had to go the NICU and have been doing pretty good except for eating. Now 13 days later the girls are coming home tomorrow. I am ready and scared to death at the same time. I know its going to be crazy around here for a few days but thank goodnesss I have my Mom here to help for 3 more weeks! More updates to come.

FINALLY AN UPDATE!

I can't believe that I have not updated this thing since October. Well needless to say a few things have happened in the past 16 weeks! I am now 30 almost 31 weeks pregnant and everything has gone very smoothly so far. We found out that we are having two precious little girls and have been trying to get ready for their arrival. I'm now going to the doctor every 2 weeks and I think she is about to bump it up to every week until they get here. The last two ultrasounds have shown the girls in the breech position and the doc does not have much hope that they will turn or have the room to turn at this point. Unfortunately that means a C-section for me which I am not too happy about but I knew with two that having a section was a huge possibility so I'll deal with it. The baby furniture was delivered a couple of weeks ago so we have been working in the girls room trying to get everything organized. I have 3 showers coming up within the next week so after those I'll be able to put more things away and see what I need to go out and get.

David and I both are just starting to realize that we are going to the parents of not one but two babies in about 6 weeks and it scares the heck out of both of us. How does anyone prepare for such a huge responsibility. People keep asking if I'm starting to get miserable pregnant and the answer is yes but I'm okay with them cooking a little bit longer so we can continue to mentally prepare ourselves! :) Right now our estimated date for their birth is March 17th. I'm gonna post some belly pics and will get the girls nursery pictures up soon. Oh one more thing we also have decided on names. They are going to be Emmilyn Mae and Lilly Christine. My mom came up with Emmilyn's name , I just liked Lilly and their middle names were both of my grandmothers. I know that they would be be so excited about these babies and even more to know that I was naming them after them. I just know that they are both looking down on us and smiling.
